SureDerm

What is SureDerm?

SureDerm is simply the natural skin tissue of humans. The donated skin is treated to remove immunogenic cells, leaving behind the dermis, which can be taken into your own skin when it is grafted. SureDerm only uses tissue that has been tested to be safe and meets the US FDA and KFDA standards. It is a product used to recover the skin of patients suffering from burns, traffic accidents, congenital diseases or conditions, periodontitis, urinary incontinence, and ulcer patients which has been used for more than 10 years.

SureDerm(Acellular Dermal Matrix) used for breast reconstruction

When reconstructing the breasts using implants, there needs to be sufficient chest muscle and skin to cover the breast implant. However, for those with surgery for breast cancer who do not have sufficient skin, or with long term radiotherapy leading to minimally elastic skin, skin expander was used to expand the skin. For those where this is not successful, SureDerm (Acellular Dermal Matrix) can be used for breast reconstruction.Frequently, the patient’s own skin from the back or the abdomen can be used for breast reconstruction, but this leads to a need for another procedure (removal of skin graft), which can be both painful and can lead to complications.

SureDerm (Acellular Dermal Matrix) used for nipple reconstruction

After successful breast reconstruction, the areolar and the nipples can be reconstructed for esthetic reasons. The pre-existing areolar is removed and SureDerm is used to create new areolar of the same size as before. Semi-permanent makeup is used to color the areolar and the nipples to complete the reconstruction.
